Thomas Alan Berg, (B.A. Political Science, MA in Education) is a San Francisco based teacher who has devoted his life to a spiritual quest focused around one major cosmic question: "Who am I as a gay man and what is my place, purpose and function in a society that seems intent on telling me that I am not a valuable expression of God's creation?" To find answers, Tom has spent over thirty years in an in-depth comparative study of the great philosophical, metaphysical, theological and psychological writings of the ages. In the early sixties a series of serendipitous encounters with Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy - and Martin Luther King Jr. - guided him into public service around the world. He has taught school for thirty-five years (K-8th grades) and has worked for both the Peace Corps in South America and the Teacher Corps in inner city schools. Tom has written two books: " A Way to Survive the Epidemic, Based on the Metaphysical Teachings of the Ancient Masters" (published 1984), and "Uncle Tom's Classroom - How One Public School Teacher Awakened His Students to the Divine Super Self Within" (to be published in early 2006). He has spent the last four years researching, teaching, writing and traveling to Europe to work with Michael Brewer, his creative partner and life long friend, on this exciting film project, which he hopes will help the world wake up to the extraordinary force and function of the Gay Spirit in human and cosmic evolution!
